Introduction

Certification is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as “proof or a document proving that someone is qualified for a particular job, or that something is of good quality”.

In the Halal sense, the Halal Certificate is a document that provides an assurance that the products and services offered for the Muslim population, in particular, are in compliance with the requirements of Islamic law. It is basically a process that ensures the features and quality of the products being certified are in accordance with the rules or standards established by relevant Competent Authority. The expected end result of a Halal Certificate is that the products and services to be certified can use the Halal mark.
